Casa Pueblo received on April 22, 2002, Earth Day, the international recognition, Goldman Environmental Prize, equivalent to a Nobel Prize of the Environment.  It was selected with five more persons representing the five continents and all the island nations.  The distinction was awarded for the community overpowering that made significant change like changing the mining project into a forest managed by them and developing communitarian self determined projects of economical and environmental sustainability.

This merit has been very important to begin new initiatives, count with international support and to feel like humble protectors of life in our homeland from a universal context.
