Casa Pueblo – 1985

As part of the group’s evolution, it acquireds with through its own efforts an old house, transforming it into the base of the organization and the community’s independent cultural centre. It has been restored little by little and withthrough its own effort until creatingto create a meeting and exposition room, library, artisan shop, antiques room, hydroponics system, and butterfly garden. and itThe house runs on solar energy.
The name of the cultural centre, Casa Pueblo, creates an identity process to the poininstigated a process of identityt that resulted in the organization of the Art and Culture Workshop organization camecoming to be known by this name by the town’s decision.
Visit Casa Pueblo and The Pueblo Forest! The visit includes a talk about Casa Pueblo's development and accomplishments through community-based self-determination. It also includes a guided tour with an interpreter of the different areas of the organization: an artisan shop, library, antique room, historic photo gallery, grinding and packing process of Madre Isla Coffee, solar energy system, hydroponic system, greenhouse, butterfly garden and its laboratory.
